Living in Wayne County, North Carolina, I have spent most of my life in the city of Goldsboro. In my time here, I have witnessed changed. While most of those changes have been good, there have been many bad ones. Strong leaders are needed to keep good momentum, while helping fix things that have been neglected.

ISSUES AND PRIORITIES

MY DISTRICT

Talking to neighbors that have lived in parts of my district for many years, they tell stories of what a grand area it once was. I sometimes think of most of district 3 as the forgotten district. There are a lot of boarded up houses, trash all over the place and the crime is outrageous. I look forward to bringing awareness to our neighborhoods and being able to work towards a place that we can feel safe in and be proud of.

BLIGHT

Neighborhood blight has negative impacts on a community reaching out further than most people
realize. Blighted properties decrease home values, break down the local real estate markets, bring safety risks to nearby residents, and reduce the tax revenue for the city. I have a vision that we can come up with a solution to reduce the blight which, in turn, will help many other aspects of our city.

CRIME

Our city is gang infested, crime riddled, and the murder rate has skyrocketed. I want to support our officers and I believe that we can find a way to pay our officers more. We need to be competitive with other neighboring counties not only to attract the best of the best but to also close the gap on the police shortage in our city.

Residents deserve to be able to feel safe in their homes, children deserve to be able to play outside without fear.

I do not want to look back 4 years from now and see that we have only regressed even further with our crime rates.

DIVISION

If there is one thing that I am good at it is running a business. While running a business, I have learned
numerous managerial skills aspects that I can bring to the table. Some of which are finance, mediation, learning when to push for something important and when not to push too hard. I have learned how to work well with others no matter our differences. If elected to serve on the City Council, I want to break the divide.
I want to come together with my fellow members and other local government heads at every chance
I have, to do what is best for the city of Goldsboro and its residents. I want to be able to talk
to my fellow colleagues and not talk at them or about them. Being on the City Council means something
to me. Not only is my family here but everyone else’s is too.

"I want to break the divide. I want to come together with my fellow members and other local government heads at every chance I have. This is how we do what is best for the city of Goldsboro and its residents."

PRO BUSINESS, PRO COMMUNITY

I love all of the developments that have come to Downtown Goldsboro! Looking around at all the changes that have taken place since I was a child brings me immense joy. Local business is an integral part of a small town. They provide jobs and tax revenue, and, given the right culture and opportunity, can make our city one that we can be proud of.

One of my goals if elected, will be to support any business owner trying to make an honest living.

HOMELESSNESS AND DRUG ADDICTION

Despite these two issues being different, they both share several similarities. Those who struggle with homelessness and addiction are shunned or placed on the back burner, while our community has no real solution for solving either problem.

Working in bail bonds, many of my clients fall into one or both of these camps. It is a truly devastating fact. We are all human and deserve a fair shot in life. If I am elected, I will work tirelessly to make the changes our community needs, coming up with effective solutions to help people while they are at their lowest.

No one is perfect. We all go through various trials in life. I want to be a part of a solution that works for a better future.

If I am elected, I will work tirelessly to make the changes our community needs. I know what works and what doesn't because it's my job to help people who are at their lowest.
